Well the Dayton Daily News is at it again. On February 9 2007 they posted a brilliant piece on political interference in science using of all sources The Union of Concerned Scientist. Dear numb skulls on the DDN editorial board: The Union of Concerned Scientist is a far left political action group. Anyone can join and be a member which is part of the reason the survey they mention had an admitted low return rate. Just using the word "scientist" in the name does as much to make it's members scientists as using the company name "Doctor's Associates Inc" (the owners of Subway restaurants) makes all of it's employees doctors.
The biggest joke about the whole global warming issue is the very lack of open debate. Those who are convinced that it is happening and that man has caused it constantly avoid ANY debate with the usual comment that "the debate is over". If the debate is over it should be very easy for them to fill us in on who debated and when. Al Gore has been offered many opportunities to debate and has never once accepted. Until an honest and open debate is engaged in without the very political interference that the Dayton Daily News complains of while they engage in the very act, there is no reason to support knee jerk changes.
